JJB disposes of 4 cases

DHS organizes Health Mela at Tirbin
ITANAGAR, Nov 23: The District Health Society (DHS), West Siang, Aalo organized a three days Health Mela at PHC Tirbin from November 21 to 23 under NRHM.
A total of 1393 patients were treated for various ailments while 30 children were vaccinated. Out of the 135 blood samples collected for Rapid Diagnostic Test (RPD) for Malaria, 132 are tested negative (positive nil). STI/RTI tests were also conducted during the health mela.

Ralo Rine murder case: Main accused arrested
ITANAGAR, Nov 23: The main accused in Ralo Rine murder case was arrested by Yazali Police.
“Sadiqul Islam, the main accused in murder of Rine was arrested from Nowgong, Assam on November 20,” Yazali Police station OC SI Tapon Messar told. The accused Islam has been brought to Yazali from Nowgong today. Police is seeking 14 days remand of the accused.
Another accused Jamal Hussain was arrested by Police on August 13.

ITANAGAR, Nov 23: Commissioner, Home Ramesh Negi has appealed to all the business community and market welfare associations of Capital Complex to open their shops without any fear as adequate security measures have been taken to ensure law and order in the city.
“All possible security measures, including patrolling by the magistrates and police officials, ‘Naka Bandi’ at crucial points, deployment of police personnel at crucial market points, etc. are being arranged for inspiring confidence amongst the people,” the Home Commissioner said in a meeting convened in the backdrop of closure of shops and commercial establishments in the Capital Complex for last few days.

PTI adds: The Arunachal Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) today demanded immediate deployment of security forces at strategic market areas here to ensure congenial atmosphere for carrying out business.
In a memorandum to Parliamentary Secretary (Home) Gadam Ete, ACCI expressed concern over the "deteriorating" law and order situation at the state capital where the trading community "is facing loot, extortion and threats everyday."
ACCI alleged that local police had failed to protect traders and businessmen despite repeated requests for security.
In view of the situation, traders had no alternative but to close their shops, the memorandum said.
Meanwhile, Ete appealed to ACCI, all the market welfare associations, all business associations of Capital Complex, to carry out their business normally. He also appealed not to spread rumors, which may create fear psychosis among the business community as well as general public.
He informed that adequate security personnel are being deployed in all sensitive areas to protect lives and properties of common men.
He further appealed to all people, NGOs, all community based organization as well as student community to cooperate with the government in maintaining peace in the state capital.

ITANAGAR, Nov 23: Much to the relief of capital citizens, the shops in twin capital of Itanagar and Naharlagun today opened after being closed for many days. There was business as usual and citizens thronged market to buy grocery items. The capital administration led by young IAS officer Sanjay Goel managed to convince traders to open shop by deploying strong contingent of security forces in various parts of capital complex.
Talking to this daily, DC Goel informed that 5 additional companies of CRPF and ITBP have been deployed in addition to already existing forces. “Today all the shops remained open in Itanagar and Naharlagun barring few. There is nothing to fear and I appeal all traders to open their shop without any fear. If there is disturbance, police should be immediately informed,” said Goel.

4th State Level Chess Tournament begins

ITANAGAR, Nov 23: Parliamentary Secretary Likha Saaya today assured All Arunachal Pradesh Chess Association (AAPCA) to extend all help from his side for promotion and popularization of Chess in Arunachal Pradesh. Attending the inaugural function of the 4th State Level Chess Championship at Nirjuli today, Saaya said that Chess is a unique game that requires a cool head, regular practice, discipline, true sportsman spirit, good mathematical and analytical ability, among others. Appreciating AAPCA’s efforts for promoting and popularizing the sports in the state, Saaya said that he would personally take up the various problems and demands of AAPCA with the Government.
Delivering few words of advice to the players, Saaya urged them to maintain sportsman spirit throughout the tournament and play the game in a friendly manner.
Saaya announced to sponsor the first and second prizes of the tournament.
AAPCA president Niapung Konia said that the motto of his association was to give an opportunity to the players of the state to play in national and international level competitions besides promoting the game in the state. He said that Arunachal has the potential to produce world class players. But lack of opportunity has simply restricted them from progression. Highlanders bundled out LSDCA in 19.4 overs. Bhaskar took 4 wickets conceding only 4 runs from 4 over. With the win, the defending champion kept its hope alive in the tournament. Highlander lost its opening match to West Siang Cricket Club on Wednesday.

Policing need to get tough in capital complex
Ever since the election process of All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) started,
the traders of capital complex shut down their shops because of extortion done in
the name of apex student body. This kind of incident has never been witnessed before
and therefore the event traumatized the peace loving citizen of capital. The apex
student body clarified that their members were not involved in any kind of extortion
activities and blamed it on anti-
Whatever AAPSU stated holds some truth. These days capital complex is flooded with many unemployed youth who are ready to commit any kind of criminal acts even for meager amount of money. To make matter worse, the capital police have failed to control law and order. There is no fear for law as police has not been able to deal effectively with these goons. If the present trend continues in days to come every citizen will take law in their own hand. The policing need to get tough and criminals have to be strongly punished so that people fear to commit any criminal act. The rein of capital complex is under the hand of two young IAS and IPS officers namely Sanjay Goel and Surender Kumar. The duo in their short stint has done some commendable job and hopefully they will do much better job in days to come.
